"We create opportunities for home ownership!"
––Terry Lawrence & Darin Carei
About Grace Homes:
In the year of 1997 two entrepreneurs, Terry Lawrence and Darin Carei, realized that there was, and would continue to be, a demand in the Grand Valley real estate market for affordable housing. Like any new company, Grace Homes was at first an experiment, a mixture of its own varied ingredients and factors. In this case faith, knowledge of the community and a desire to supply the demand of affordable housing were to be united with an enormous, statewide period of growth, which by the late nineties was beginning to gain major momentum.
As the Western Slope’s and especially the Grand Valley’s population grew so indeed did the competition for Grace Homes. Thus, buyers in a position to purchase a new home began to have greater supply than ever before as upgrades and trends -stucco, tile, granite- became available to them. In a valley known for its middle-class, the more affluent began to define its edges. Wisely capitalizing on the high appreciation rates, investor’s too began to purchase real estate as they had not since the oil-shale boom of the early 1980’s.
At this point Grace Homes, with their dedication to high value and fair pricing, definitively began to stand apart from the rest. For though temptation and opportunity abounded, Grace Homes never abandoned its mission of providing affordable home ownership to those who might not have realized it otherwise.
It eventually came to be in the Grand Valley that buyers were choosing their builders like never before. At the same time and still today, one builder, Grace Homes Real Estate and Construction, is instead choosing its buyers.
Still rooted in its original cause, Grace seeks out to satisfy the need of entry level buyers, the single parent, the college grad, the retiree, the newlyweds, all those that are an inch away from the American dream of homeownership. It is then that a dedicated sales team, directed by experienced, innovative management, spares no effort to close this gap.
To this end goal, Grace Homes has succeeded with over 1000 new homes delivered since Grace Park, their first project, was completed a decade ago. With over 23 successful subdivisions completed or in progress to date: Grand Meadows, Monument Glen, Villa Way, Brookside, River Bend, Valley View Village, Summer Glen, Iron Horse, and Brookwillow are just some of the more notable examples, Grace Homes looks forward to continuing to supply the Western Colorado region with affordable homes.
Such success, however, has not made the path sought any smoother. With land selling for an average of $80,000 an acre, construction costs continually increasing, and infrastructure costs escalating, the Grace Homes of today must continue to work diligently to keep producing their ideal product, one based on quality, integrity, and value.
